Community Week got off to a flying start today with a very enthusiastic effort from both staff and students. Every summer the academy takes a week off from the usual time table, and staff and students are given the opportunity to collaborate on projects which will benefit the local community. Past projects have seen the academy raise huge amounts of cash for its chosen charities, volunteer help in the local community, and collaborate with partner schools in Sierra Leone, Poland and China.

Some of this year’s projects include:

Princess Trust Enterprise: Students will raise money for charity by creating merchandise to sell within the local community.

Bicycle Maintenance and Car Valeting: The Motor Vehicle team will work with groups of students who will be offering a range of valeting and repair services. Prices start from £5.

Mini Sports Day: Students will compete against each other in a mini sports session. Activities include: long jump, shot-putting, javelin and penalty shootouts.
