We aim to provide an outstanding, inspirational education that will empower students to reach their full potential and give them a vision for life and their future.

  • A broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3. The KS3 curriculum has many of the characteristics followed in a mainstream environment in order to aid reintegration. However it also includes unique opportunities for self development and understanding. This includes a bespoke enrichment programme in year 9.

  • A broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 4. Morning sessions offer GCSE and GCSE-equivalent qualifications in; English, Mathematics, Science (option), ICT (ECDL), Physical Education (VCERT), Leisure and Tourism (GSCE), PSHCE. There is a strong focus on the Arts and all student study GCSE Photography and Art.

  • Afternoon sessions focus on enterprise and employability, offering all students a vocational course along with a work skills package. Our distinctive vocational curriculum leads through into Further Education and the workplace.

  • Global – connecting with young people in poorer nations as well as those in the developing world to give a world view and a Global context.

  • Small groups of 8 students with a staff-student ratio of 1:4.

  • Flexible – individualised pathways tailored to the student.

  • A student entitlement of up to 8 GCSEs, with a single GCSE given a minimum of 120 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and a double GCSE a minimum of 240 GLHs. All students will leave with at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths.

  • Personalised Literacy and Numeracy programmes for all students to improve achievement. Heavy investment and promotion of reading packages, support and strategies.

  • Enrichment activities outside of school hours and within the curriculum including residential visits overseas and physical activity in other contexts such as rock climbing.

  • A strong link to real life – the world of work and enterprise.

  • Individual mentoring programme to support the progress of the individual.
